Gloria Hyde Boling age 80, Cumming, GA. She was born March 1, 1942 and passed into eternal life in the morning hours January 30th.
Gloria was the fifth child of nine born to Grace (Mathis) Hyde and William “Ed” Hyde.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a beacon of love and light to all those around her.
Gloria was the whole package, full of grit and grace, soft like a feather but tough as nails when times demanded it. Her brother Earnest described her as having a heart of gold and softness but enough Irish temper to sustain her in the hard times.
We daughters could not have hoped for a better mother. She taught us so much about sacrificing for her family. She elected to stay home full time to raise us three girls. She was the glue that kept our family together by tending the chickens, gardening and canning garden fruits and vegetables and topping most days off with some of the best homemade desserts you would find anywhere, banana pudding and German chocolate cakes were just two of her divine creations.
When not directly engaged with the farm or assisting us girls with schoolwork, mother made the time and showed her talents of being an extraordinary seamstress. She worked diligently with her hands teaching her girls about colors and patterns, making most of our own clothes.
Not only did she make most of our clothes, mother made wedding gowns for sister-in-laws just another outwardly expression of her love to all her family. As an adult, mother even learned to play the piano. We have vivid memories running around the piano stool as mother practiced her lessons.
As a minister’s wife, mother filled that role seamlessly as she did all the other things she aspired to do. She was a faithful preacher’s wife dedicating time to serve the people of the various churches Daddy was called to pastor. She instilled the love of Christ into us all and lived it to the fullest.
Gloria is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Clyde Wilson Boling, parents William Ed and Grace Hyde, brothers Wilbert Hyde, Hugh Hyde, sisters Nadine Prather, Patsy Echols.
Gloria is survived by daughters Darleen (Rodney) Bailey, Deborah (Guy) Worley, Gwen (Yogi) Graham, grandchildren Megan Worley, Ryan Worley, and granddaughter-in-love Josie Graham Sharp, sister Betty Hopkins, brothers Cloys Hyde, Earnest Hyde, Ricky Hyde and a number of nieces and nephews.
