Gordon Lee Patterson

Gordon Lee Patterson peacefully passed away on the evening of December 19, 2020 of natural causes. He was a long-time resident of the Oaks at Post Road in Cumming, GA. He was 95 years old.

He was born on August 12, 1925 in Brownstown, IL to Glen and Myla (Hooker) Patterson. Mr. Patterson served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and served on a destroyer in the Pacific Theater. After his active duty service, he continued to work for the Navy as an aircraft mechanic for the Civil Service. He was an active member of the VFW in Cumming.

Mr. Patterson married Katherine (Glover) Patterson of Cumming who preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Thomas Patterson of Kerrville, TX, and three grandsons, Chris, Travis, and Douglas Patterson. He is also survived by his brother Robert Patterson of Brownstown IL, and three sisters: Barbara Beeson of Casey IL, Yvonne Watkin of Peoria, AZ, and Sue Thoman of Vandalia, IL.

Viewing will be on Monday, December 28, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Roswell the following day.

In place of flowers, the family would appreciate a small donation to The Oaks at Post Road in Cumming as they provided such excellent care during his last years there.
