Gregory Joseph Janik, age 74, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday night, September 9th, 2017 at his home. Born September 18th, 1942, in Waukegan, Illinois, he was the son of the late Joseph Stephen Janik and Marie Louise (Duba) Janik.

Greg was a loving husband and father as well as beloved friend to many. He had a heart for animals, a crazy funny sense of humor and a truly unstoppable work ethic. Never was there a time when he said I cant, but rather he consistently said Lets figure out how.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Karin Mickan Janik; along with their two children; Jarett Janik and wife Janphen Trathip Janik of Austin, Texas, Jessica Janik Lorenz and husband Timothy Lorenz of Cumming, Georgia; niece Jennifer Mickan Martin and husband Butch Martin of McHenry, Illinois; 5 grandchildren, Sydney Harvey, Cassidy Harvey, Alexander Janik, Christian Janik and Nicholas Janik of Cumming, Georgia; and many other loving relatives.

Memorial services for Greg will be held at 4:00 P.M., Friday, September 15th, 2017 at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, Georgia 30040. Greg has chosen to be cremated and his family lovingly will return his ashes in some of his favorite spots. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Atlanta Lab Rescue (www.atlantalabrescue.com) at 1422 Woodmont Lane NW, Atlanta, GA 30318-2808
