Harold G. Rainey, Sr.

Harold G. Rainey Sr., age 77, of Cumming, Georgia passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024. He was born in Fort Valley, Georgia on December 10, 1946. Harold was one of ten children; the proud fifth son of Edgar Knox Rainey Sr. and Blanche Hewitt Rainey. Harold was a Master Electrician and the owner of his own business for over 45 years. He had a lifelong passion for astronomy, history, politics, music and gardening.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Kuglar Rainey and his children, Caroline Shortnacy and husband, Thomas, of Cumming, GA; Michelle Lee (Gary)of Warner Robins, GA; Stella Jaunsen (Conor)of Duluth, GA; Deletta Gibson (Brian) of Cumming, GA; Harold G Rainey II of Warner Robins, GA and Megan Rainey of Gainesville, FL, and his grandchildren, Lola Shortnacy, Lydia Shortnacy, Shannon Jaunsen, Aaron Gibson, Autumn Lee, Andrew Lee, Nicole Rainey and his great grandchildren, Lochlin Jaunsen-Lee, Lilabet Jaunsen-Lee, and Jesen Rainey.
He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Ann Ransom, Frances Story, Elton Rainey, Robert Rainey (Cristal) and James Rainey (Tracey); along with many nieces and nephews. He is survived by pets, Rocco (dog) and One-Eyed Jack (cat).

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Helen Steele, Edgar Rainey Jr., Blanche Kettmann, and Theodore Rainey.

A celebration of Harold’s life will be held at a later date.
