Helen Estelle Bennett

Helen Estelle Bennett, age 86, of Cumming, passed away Monday, August 8, 2011. She was a member of Roanoke Baptist Church and worked for Forsyth County Board of Education for 17 years. Helen is preceded in death by her loving husband, George Brice Bennett; parents, Nell and Jim Holcomb; 4 sisters and 1 brother. Survivors include her children, Diane (Charles) Hansard, Charlene (Alvie, Deceased) Pirkle, Carol (Randall) Pendley, Levon (Jim) Thomas, Margie (Loyd) Pendley, Gloria Corn, Brice Jr. (Jean) Bennett, Kathy ( Dennis) Grogan all of Cumming; brothers and sisters, J.R. Holcomb, Linda Rhew, Randall Holcomb, Yvonne Wilkins; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives; special caregivers, Patti Wilkie, Nichel Owens. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 11, at 3:00 p.m. with Mrs. Bennett lying in state at 2:30 p.m. in Roanoke Baptist Church with Rev. Ruel Martin, Rev. Clark Watson and Rev. Ronnie Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until hour of service at the funeral home. Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
