Helen Margaret Bancroft Robison Stine, Mimi, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011 after a brief illness. Helen was born in Kent, England on August 28, 1927 to the late Charles Leslie Robison and Marianne Bancroft. Helen was raised in Jamaica and attended and all-girl boarding school. At 18, Helen moved to Alabama and graduated from the University of Alabama. This is also where she met and married her husband, James Oscar Stine. Helen and Jim had a wonderful life together, traveling most of the world, from Europe, Russia and China with Jims long career with General Electric. They were married 53 years until Jims passing in October, 2003. Helen was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was dearly loved and cherished by her family. In 2004, Helen had a heart attack and fought a long battle to survive. After moving from Johns Creek to Buford, she went on to live her last six years with much vigor and love for life. She loved her community at Friendship Corners in Buford, making many friends there and enjoying a fun social life, especially the Red Hat Ladies. She was also active playing bridge with her long time group from Johns Creek and also at Bogan Park. Helen is survived by her children and their spouses, sons: J. Larry Stine, wife Kathryn, and Andrew Stine, wife Michelle, daughters: Debra Stine Hogan, husband Dan, and Brenda Stine Duggan, husband Jim. She has 8 grandchildren: Kate Stine DeLoach, husband John, Laura Stine Borck, husband Jay, Amanda Stine Warmack, husband R. C., Emily Duggan, Matthew Duggan, Max Hogan, Ryann Hogan and Banks Stine. She has 7 great grandchildren, Hannah and Hayley Franklin, Jess DeLoach, Analeigh Warmack, Anna Grace and James Borck and Madison Duggan. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Columbas Episcopal Church, 939 James Burgess Road, Suwanee, GA 770-888-4625 with The Rev. Fr. Tripp Norris officiating. The family will gather to greet friends on Sunday, January 9th from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Ave., Cumming, GA 770-887-2388. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation can send it in Helen Stines name to St. Columbas Episcopal Church at the above address. Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
