Helen Martin Pendley

Helen Martin Pendley, age 78, of Forsyth County, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 following a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of Jot Em Down Road in Forsyth County and member of Salem Baptist Church. Helen was a former employee of Jake Sacks for 19 years and J.C. Penney for 28 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Pendley; and parents, Charlie and Bertie Martin; sisters, Nellie Lou (Carl) Anderson and Dorothy Walls; brothers, Herbert Martin, Calvin Martin, and Ivan Martin. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Wade Castleberry; grandson and daughter-in-law, Justin and Julie Castleberry; great grandsons, Sam, Eli and Isaac Castleberry; brother, Bill Martin; sisters-in-law, Sarah Garrett, Jo Ann Martin, and Sue Martin; brother-in-law, Harley Walls; a number of nieces and nephews and other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 9 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Martin and Rev. Doug Carnes officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
