Herbert Oliver Edwards

Mr. Herbert Oliver (H.O.) Edwards, age 90 of Cumming, GA a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away Friday, September 18, 2009. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Patricia Gauntt Edwards; son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, David, Jeanette, Victoria, Patrick, Olivia and Sophia Leathers, all of Cumming, GA; son, Hank Leathers of Somerset, KY and many nieces and nephews. H.O. resided in Cumming, but was a long term resident of Stone Mountain and Decatur, where he practiced law for over 50 years. H.O. was born in Roanoke, AL and grew up in Manchester, GA. His Manchester Boy Scout Troop 3 marched in FDRs inaugural parade and enjoyed reunions spanning 70 years. He served in the Air Force in WWII stationed in North Africa and the Middle East. Upon return from the war, H.O. graduated from Emorys College of Law. He was a long time member of White Oaks Hills and Memorial Park Baptist Church. H.O. enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a long time member of Fort Barrington Club. H.O. loved entertaining and feeding his family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 3:00 pm in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Sunday, Sept. 27th from 2:00 pm until time of service.
