Hoyt Eugene Padgett

Hoyt Eugene Padgett, age 78, of Cumming, GA, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021. He was born in 1943, to the late Andy and Dessie Mae Padgett. He was a member of Ophir Baptist Church in Ball Ground, GA. Hoyt enjoyed tending to his yard, doing occasional plumbing jobs on the side, and especially spending time with his grandson. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Jerry Broughton Padgett and Jerlene Martin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gwen Padgett; children, Ken Padgett, and Michael (Nancy) Padgett; grandson, Alex Padgett; siblings, Imogene Bowers, Betty Johnson, Mary Helen Cowan, Patricia (Brent) Chamlee, and Danny (Kathy) Padgett; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Ophir Baptist Church in Ball Ground, GA with Rev. Jerry Frazier, Rev. Keith Martin, and Rev. L.C. Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
