Humberto Medina

It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Dr. Leonardo Humberto Medina who passed away October 26, 2015. Humberto, (A.K.A. Papi and Abo) was born in Havana Cuba on October 16, 1930. In 1957 he moved to Madrid, Spain where he was part of the team that performed the country's first open heart surgery. That is where he met Maria Del Carmen, his wife of thirty years. Humberto began a urology practice in Riverdale, GA. His passion for life was felt in everything he did, from his care for people to the beautiful woodworking projects he made and the most fun of all, his dancing moves. He will be forever missed, but never forgotten. Survivors include his wife, Josefina Tamayo-Medina; his daughter and son-in-law Vivian and Greg Cook; grandchildren, Sydney and Colin Cook and his niece and nephews; Humberto, Elio and Giselle Medina. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions and or masses may be made to The Immaculate Heart of Mary.
