Our beautiful mama, Christeen Cox Roper 98 years old went home to be with Jesus. She was the oldest member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. She worked for Georgia Shoe for 16 years, Lovables for 2 years and later became Avon representative in her area. She loved and adored her family, church, friends and loved meeting and talking with people. She enjoyed life and her hobbies which included quilting, cooking, making flower arrangements and planting flowers.
She is preceded in death by her husband Grady Roper, parents Ezra and Lena Cox, sister Maudine Lummus, brothers Bill and Leon Cox.
She is survived by one son Junior (Ruby) Roper of Cumming, daughters Sybil Chastain of Cumming and Beverly (Ronald) Hales of Canton, sister Frankie Collett of Powder Springs, grandchildren Jeff Roper, Christie (Kevin) Brooks, Debra (Matt) Barnes, Adam Cornelison, Trey, Eddie and Justice Hales, 6 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. We would like to thank all the staff at Chestnut Ridge and Agape Hospice for all their wonderful care.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 5210 Pisgah Rd, Cumming, GA. Rev. Jamie Sanford, Rev. Michael Cantrell, and Rev. Randy Richards will officiate. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA on Friday, March 30th from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Saturday, March 31st from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.
