Imogene Scheidt, wife of Herschel Scheidt, both natives of Columbus, Indiana, entered her eternal rest on Friday, January 9th in Cumming, Georgia. Born to Clara Kiel Forster and Henry Forster on June 12, 1922, Imogene graduated from Columbus High School and was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church, Columbus, Indiana. Imogene was employed by Cummins Engine Company, First National Bank and Arvin's prior to marrying Herschel Clifford Scheidt on February 6, 1942. She was active in her church, community and family as she reared their two children and served the many guests always welcome in their home. Imogene and Herschel moved to this community to be near their family in 2007 and have resided at 4810 Watson Farms Lane in Cumming. Mrs. Scheidt is survived by husband, Hershel, and her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis Scheidt (Monica) also of Cumming, Georgia. She is survived by seven grandsons: Eric Scheidt (Michelle) of Nashville, Tennessee; Deke Scheidt, Zachary (Brittany), Adam Scheidt, Dennis Scheidt Jr (Shelby), Isaac Scheidt of Atlanta, Georgia; Nathan Scheidt (Celina) of New York City and four granddaughters: Mandy Smith (Chad) of Bangkok, Thailand; Katherine Schuber (Derek) of Athens, Georgia; Diana Matthews (Aaron) of Madison, Wisconsin and Josie Scheidt of Cumming, Georgia. She is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren and a brother, Karl, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Imogene was preceded in death by daughter Nancy; sisters Lois, Henrietta and Dorothy Mae, and brothers Ebert, Earl, George, Frank, and Pete. A legacy of love, faith and courage are among the footprints left for those who come behind this woman who walked with kindness, gentleness and a winsome smile all of her days. Visitation will take place at the Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming on Tuesday, January 13th from 6:00-8:00. The funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, January 17th at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Columbus, Indiana following visitation at 10:00AM.
