Inge Diehl passed away on January 30, 2025, in Cumming, GA, as the morning sky was illuminated by a brilliant orange sunrise. Born on November 23, 1939, in Nieder Weisel, Germany, to Hans and Elfriede Haub, Inge's adventurous spirit led her to leave her homeland at 19 and embark on a journey to the United States. In 1958, she sailed across the Atlantic, arriving in New York. A year later, she was joined by Rolf P. Diehl from Nieder Erlenbach, Germany, whom she married in New Jersey on June 25, 1960. Rolf passed away in 1983. They had one daughter, Susan, who remained their pride and joy.
Inge worked for Swissair at JFK Airport, a job she loved immensely. She spoke often of the opportunities it gave her to travel to many places and remain connected with her family in Germany. In 1974, when the opportunity arose for the family to move to Hong Kong,Inge was excited to do so and would treasure the experiencethroughout her life. After Rolf's passing, Inge built a life with Arnold Feldman, with whom she lived until his death in 2003. She then moved to Cary, NC, and later to Cumming to be closer to Susan and her grandsons whom she adored.
Inge had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs, Katie, Jamie, and Petey. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Whitlock, son-in-law Will, and grandsons Christopher and Billy Whitlock. In Germany, she leaves behind her loving sister, Margrit Schneider, nieces and nephews: Eckhard Haub (Anita), Kerstin Christ (Ottmar), Regina Reitz (Manfred), Pia Schneider (Rainer), Olaf Schneider (Sandra), Ralf Schneider (Natalie) and sister-in-law Renate Scharff. Inge was preceded in death by her parents, beloved brother Willi Haub, sister-in-law Brigitte Haub, brother-in-law Heinz Schneider, close friend Patricia Whitlock, and her cherished dog Katie.
