Jackie Carnes

Mr. Jackson “Jackie” T. Carnes of Cumming, Ga passed away at his home September 4, 2024, from a short battle with Cancer. Jackie was a man who loved his family deeply, but his grandchildren were the light of his life. Jackie grew up in the Buffington community in Cherokee county where he attended Buffington Elementary and Cherokee High School. Mr. Carnes is preceded in death by his father, Tyson Jackson Carnes, Parents, Robert and Wilma Lathem Carnes Burruss, grandparents, Eula Lee and Emory Lathem, Brother Donald Carnes, Nephew, Jeff Carnes, father and mother-in-law, James E. and Jewel Traver and brother- in-law Clinton Bowen. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years Pat Traver Carnes, children, Ty Carnes, Jut Carnes (Valorie) and Deborah Carnes, grandchildren, Patrick Carnes, Emerson Carnes, Victoria Carnes, Jackson Carnes and Slaton Carnes, Brother, Rev. Doug Carnes (Patty), Sister, Robin Mitchel (Mitch), sister-in-law, Carol Carnes as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 2 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Jackie Carnes will be held Friday at 2 PM from the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Bennett, Rev. Craig Richard and Rev. Gary Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Coal Mountain Cemetery. The following Gentlemen serving as pallbearers, Brian Carnes, Lance Carnes, Owen Carnes Will Carnes, Isaac Castleberry, Sam Castleberry, Eli Castleberry, Lee Mitchell, Drew Hogan, and Brogan Casey. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 2 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home and again Friday from 11:00 AM til time of service
