James Aloysius "Bud" III

James Aloysius (Bud) Dougherty, III, age 73, of Cumming, passed away Saturday, March 4th, 2017. He had a successful career as a Director of Human Resources. However, later in life he pursued his true passion by working as a caddie master at the Golf Club of Georgia. He was a Sargent in the United States Air Force Reserves. Bud was an avid golfer and tennis player for many years. He enjoyed sports, but mostly the Fighting Irish and anything "Philly" related. He was known for his quick wit, sarcasm and sense of humor. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Josie Dougherty of Cumming; children, Jill (Ryan) Dennis of Phoenix, AZ, Buddy (Melissa) Dougherty of Cumming, Erin (Mark) Schuler of Holly Springs; sister, Pat Hostutler of Delaware; grandchildren, JD Dougherty, Laney Dougherty, Clint Schuler; nephew, Ron Hostutler; niece, Anne Hostutler. Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 11th, at 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, in Cumming, GA with Father Jorge Carranza officiating. After the service, family and friends are invited to a clubhouse reception at The Villages of Concord Farms, 4580 Concord Village Lane, Cumming, GA 30040.
