James Howard Grainger l LT was born November 23, 1944, in Conway, South Carolina passed away in Gainesville, Georgia on October 6, 2021. He is known to friends and family as Howard and is a resident of Cumming, Georgia.

Howard served as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He was retired from Eqifax Inc. as Vice President of Telecommunications and Development, and from his own company, Internex Group. Howard is a member of Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge and the Cumming Shrine Club. He was fond of wildlife, hunting, and fishing and was always happiest near or in the water. He is remembered for his great love of music despite being tone deaf and completely lacking rhythm. He was an avid reader and connoisseur of fine single malt scotch.

Howard is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Kay Grainger; a daughter, Phillissa Rozansky; a granddaughter, Evelyn Rozansky; and a sister, Tammy Funderburk. He is preceded in death by brothers; Larry, Harry and Jerry Grainger; and his mother, Rhoda Riley.

James Howard Grainger will be laid to rest in a private ceremony for the family, November 4 at the National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. Public visitation and a service for Howard will be at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, Saturday, October 9, 9:00-12:00 pm followed by appetizers and remembrance at Tam's Backstage Restaurant at 12:00 pm.

The family requests that donations be made to Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge to support the lodge's charitable work in the Cumming area, in lieu of flowers.
