James "Ivan" Turner

Ivan went to be with the Lord and his loving wife on January 26th. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; grandson, PJ; father, Jim; mother, Lizzie; brothers, JL and Kermit, sister, Allene; son-in-law, Buz Parsons.

He was a Christian man and loving devoted father to his daughter. He was born in Dawson County and lived there until the passing of his beloved wife Nancy. He then moved to Texas living his remaining years with his daughter Lisa. He enjoyed life on the farm taking care of his animals and sitting on the porch watching birds. He loved watching sports especially the Atlanta Braves (never missing a game) and became a Texas Rangers fan.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa, Grandson Josh (Ashley), Granddaughter Jenifer Smith (Des), Great Granddaughter Hayden, Great Grandsons William and Ellijah, Sisters Doris, Stella and Opal, many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 1, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Hamby and Rev. Troy Milford officiating. Interment will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
