James (Jim) Harold Lowe, 70, of Cumming, GA passed away August 26, 2024, with his loving family by his side. Jim was born in Hattiesburg, MS to the late Harold Lloyd and Pauline Shill Lowe. Mr. Lowe was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming, GA since 2003.
Jim was raised in Bogalusa, LA and attended Southeastern University where he received a degree in Marketing. After graduation, he worked as an insurance premium auditor. During his 30 plus year career, he worked for a couple of major companies in the New Orleans area and was promoted to senior premium auditor. In 2003, he and his family moved to Cumming, where he accepted a position as Vice President with a local insurance company.
He was an avid collector of everything ocean liner and railroad and over the years built quite a collection. In 1986, he had a dream come true when he had the opportunity to go aboard The S. S. UNITED STATES when she was being scrapped in Norfolk, VA. Everything was for sale and 2 weeks later a freight truck delivered the goodies.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lenora Haslauer Lowe; a son, Trent Lowe; a daughter and son-in-law, Brittany & Josh Cook; granddaughters, Embree and Blakelynn; a sister and brother in-law, Karen & Kenny Little; a brother and sister in-law, Kevin & Lisa Lowe; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A funeral mass will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends in the narthex of the church prior to the service from 12:30 until service time. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory entrusted with the arrangements.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Dementia Society. P. O. Box 600. Doylestown, PA 18901 or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
