James Richard Chastain, age 91, of Cumming, Ga., passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010. James was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church of Dawsonville for 80 years. Mr. Chastain loved camp meeting and attended camp meeting almost every year. James is preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Pearl Florence Chastain, and their son, Ray Chastain. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Ed Gabriel of Oakwood, Wanda and Walter Elliott of Gainesville, Jean and Darrell Crowe of Gainesville, Jamie and James Thompson of Cumming; twelve grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church in Dawsonville with Rev. Harold Evans and Rev. James Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Monday, November 8, 2010 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
