James William Dotson Sr

James William Dotson Sr., age 80, of Cumming, Georgia died on October 31, 2014. He was born February 17, 1934 in Monroe, Georgia, the son of Charles William and Mary Winnie Dotson. J.W. was employed by Scientific-Atlanta for 32 years, and continued his career at DMSI. J.W. enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and the GEORGIA BULLDOGS. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wonderful wife of 62 years, Joyce Ann (Whitley) Dotson; daughter, Joy McNeel; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Kelly Dotson; grandsons, Cody Dotson and Will Dotson; sister, Polly Kraft; in-laws, Harold and Jean Whitley; nieces, Vicki (Mark) Starnes, Gail (Henry) Bagby, Ann Allen, Kim (Keith) Thomas, Susan (Bud) Turner, Elizabeth (Scott) Wingo; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He is pre-deceased by sisters, Bootsie Dotson and Goldie Speer, and nephews, Donnie Jones and Mitchell Allen. To sum up his life, he was a very good man, devoted to his wife and children, and grandchildren; and much loved by all who knew him. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon, November 4, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming; Memorial Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association.
