Janet Elinor Imboden, age 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, April 26, 2021. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Janet was born February 21, 1928 in Garden City, NY, the fourth of eight children to Mary (Brennan) Taylor and Thomas Taylor. Janet spent most of her life in Farmingdale, NY where she raised four children with her loving husband of 61 years, Richard Imboden, who passed away in 2010.
Janet was loved by all that knew her. She was kind and generous, always seeing the good in everyone and everything. One of her greatest joys was having the family all gather together for the annual Imboden family Christmas tree trimming parties. She loved seeing her family together, sharing stories from their childhoods, and the good natured teasing that was sure to take place! These family gatherings always included at least one of Janet's 'epic' and contagious laughing fits! She loved life, and it showed.
Janet was a devout Catholic and stayed true to her faith throughout her life. She received her final Sacrament, the Anointing Of The Sick, just days before her passing into heaven.
In addition to her husband, Janet was predeceased by their oldest child, Diane (Wolk) Imboden. She is survived by her daughter Linda Hopkins and her husband Mark Hopkins, son Stephen Imboden and his wife Leslie, and daughter Elaine Cardillo and her fiancé Robert White. She also leaves behind 13 loving grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and three siblings.
The family is planning a memorial service and family gathering to be held later this year. Janet's final resting place will be alongside her husband at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
Janet brought such joy to our lives and she will be missed terribly by her family and friends. Though she has left this world, she will remain in our hearts...Always.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to Ingram Funeral Home, Cumming, GA
