Jason Martin Davis

…keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. Jude 1:21

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Jason Martin Davis on December 25th, 2024. Jason was preceded in death by his father, Walter Davis; he is survived by his mother Lillian “Lin” Davis, brother Casey Davis (Cindy), brother Ken Davis, and niece Harley Beth Davis.

Jason is also survived by his wife of 12 years, Susan Bailey Davis, Mother-in-law Sue Bailey, Sister-in-law Paige Turkia (Mark), nephew Joey Turkia (Stephanie), and niece Abby Turkia (Cameron).

Susan and Jason were childhood friends even attending the same kindergarten. On October 13, 2012, to the joy of all their mutual friends, they were married. Jason relished the role of being a husband and constantly bragged on his "smokin' hot wife". Born November 25, 1967 in Demorest, GA near that same kindergarten, Jason was raised “all boy” in the rough and tumble Davis household, riding his bike through Conelia, exploring the woods, roaming back and forth among his friend’s homes, and attending all the youth functions at 1st Baptist Church in Cornelia. Jason was an avid sports enthusiast, which grew into a passion for his Georgia Bulldogs. Jason graduated Habersham Central High School in 1986.

In 1988, as a young man, Jason enlisted in the U.S. Army where he found his passion for law enforcement. Jason served as a member of the Military Police in Boston, MA (Fort Devens) and Fairbanks, AK (Fort Wainwright). He was especially proud of his time as a military working dog handler and member of the SRT (Special Reaction Team). Jason was honorably discharged in 1995 having reached the rank of sergeant. Upon his return home, Jason attended North Georgia College and received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in 1999 with the intention of furthering his career in a law enforcement capacity.

Surprisingly, Jason’s part-time job at 1st Franklin Financial while he attended college became his career. He rose from part-time night systems support to frontline technical support and eventually managing that group as the Technical Support Manager. Over the next 25 years, Jason served as both Project Manager and IT Resource Manager. He had taken that same drive, determination, and worth ethic learned in the military police to his work in Information Technology.

That same drive, determination, and ability to push through served him equally well in his battle against cancer. He was an inspiration to us all in the way he faced his illness, handled his responsibilities, cared for his loved ones, and stood by his family and friends. The world is a little darker without our friend, husband, brother, and son… but we know and trust on the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ and we will join Jason one day in eternal life.

A memorial service will be held at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA, on Saturday, January 4 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 p.m., and after the service at the home of Paige Turkia and Mark Watson.
