Jason Neal Day peacefully passed away in his home on April 20, 2025 after a brief illness. He was born July 7, 1971 in the Coal Mountain Community of Forsyth County. As a little boy, he came to faith in Jesus at nine years old and was baptized and joined Coal Mountain Baptist Church. Even from a young age, Neal loved Jesus and encouraged others on their faith journey.
In recent years, Neal was an active member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and taught Sunday school. He had a gift of being able to make the scriptures easily understood and often offered a unique perspective.
Neal was a funny, kind man and a friend to all he encountered. He was a true gentleman. He was the “Favorite Uncle” and there was no challenger for that title in the family. His favorite hobbies were spending time with his loved ones gardening or on the river, especially with his wife who was his best friend.
He was employed by Hawks Ridge Golf Club for many years. He was a jack of many trades and known for his hard work, intelligence, loyalty and honesty. He was well respected and loved among his work family.
He leaves behind a multitude of family and lifelong friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Christy Day, his siblings Joanne (Andy) Holbrook, Karen (Wyn) Hutto, Russell (Phyllis) Bottoms, Michael (Holly) Bottoms, Tracey (David) Hicks, a host of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 26th at 4:30 PM in the Arbor at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Robby Mathis, Rev. Russell Burt and Rev. Dennis Bottoms officiating. The visitation will be from 3:30 until time of service at the Brush Arbor behind at Zion Hill Baptist Church
A man who was rich with friends and family. Neal will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me; bless his holy name.
