J.C. Gilleland

J.C. Gilleland Jr born August 11, 1935 in Cumming Ga passed away march 28, 2022.  J.C. was former owner of 2 popular restaurants, the Lanier from 1964-1973, and also the Appalachian from 1973-1988 where he met and enjoyed many lifelong friends.  J.C. was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and enjoyed feeding his deer and watching his Martin birds.  J.C.’s shop has been a well-known Silver City hangout where a lot of good times have taken place over the years

J.C. is preceded by wife of 56 years Reita Gilleland, father and mother coy and Bunie Gilleland and sisters Vonceil Gravitt and Ruby Nelson.

J.C. is survived by sisters Ineal Milford, Mazell Evans and Bobbie Howard.  Great nephew Jon Howard and special friends Greg and Lori Cloud and Phil and Connie Jennings. Additional nephews, nieces and cousins survive.

The family would like to especially thank Greg and Sheila Gove for being special care givers to J.C.

Graveside service at Sawnee View Garden Monday apAprilril 4^th at 2:00 with speakers Jerry Howard and Lamar “Cabbage” Pendley.

Public is welcome to attend and in lieu of flowers take someone fishing or hunting that has never been, J.C. would have wanted that.
