Jean Kelly Zimmerman, age 88, of Cumming, GA, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Jean grew up in the small Wisconsin town, Wisconsin Dells, where her father was a much beloved banker and a leading layman in St. Cecilias Catholic Church. She was wed in the church by her uncle, Monsignor James Kelly. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin School of Physical Therapy where she met her classmate, James Zimmerman, she worked in the polio epidemics of the 1950s until the first of her five children were born. Her life always centered on her happy marriage and the joy she and her husband shared in their five children and eight grandchildren. She was a communicant at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Cumming, GA.
Survivors include her husband, James P. Zimmerman of Cumming, GA; her son, Gregory Zimmerman of Arlington, VA; her daughter, Robin Z. Willard and her husband, Mark of Fox Chapel, PA, and their children, Matthew Dietly of San Fransico and Abigail Dietly of Charlotte,NC; her daughter, Lisa Z. Morris and her husband, Jack Morris of Lexington, KY, and their children, Kelly Ann and Samuel Morris of Lexington, KY; her daughter, Holly Z. Oliver and her husband, David of Cumming, GA and their children, Lindsey Oliver of Vinings, GA , Megan Oliver of Roswell, GA, and Julianne Oliver of Cumming, GA; her son, James W. Zimmerman and his wife, Christine of Merritt Island, FL, and their daughter, Rachel Zimmerman.
Funeral Mass will be Thursday, December 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Cumming, GA, with Father Diosmar A. Natad as celebrant.
Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
