On Sunday, The Lords Day, December 8th, the Mother of the Year, Best Wife of Seven Years, Best Sister Loyal Friend of a Lifetime, and one of the wisest, most generous, fiercely independent, and loving daughter and granddaughter anyone could have ever wanted was ushered into heaven by angels to walk the streets paved of gold in her heavenly home. She is now reunited and rejoicing with Jesus, the angels, her Grandma Granddaddy Yaun, her Great Granny Carr, and her cousin, Cody Carr.
Many women do noble things, but Miranda surpassed them all. She left home to be on her own at 18 years old, and she never looked back. She dated and married the love of her life, Wes Rhodes, and after two years of marriage, the couple brought a precious, beautiful baby girl into their family. There is no doubt that Miranda was, indeed, one of the best mothers ever! She embraced motherhood and family life with her whole being. She played, read, taught life lessons, and independence to her Bella. Her sense of style and flare wasnt lost on her baby as the little one once donned her hat and over-sized sunglasses, and said, I look like my Mommy.
Miranda consistently practiced what many could embrace in this day and time the ability to leave the phone in another room for hours. She understood the significance of being present with her family and friends, and her most favorite place to be was with her Wes and Bella. They were her world.
Balancing co-owning and operating Rhodes Construction Company with family life was another strength of Mirandas. One could find her bidding on jobs while looking like a million dollars or keeping the books for the company. If Miranda wasnt running the business, she was busy about her home as she decorated for every holiday with her darling daughter, ensuring the family ate dinner at 6:00, and keeping everyone comfortable and on schedule. Miranda loved yoga, Barre, taking Bella skating, spending time at the public library with her Bella, and even took skateboarding lessons this past year.
On September 13, 1995, at Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta, Miranda accepted our Lord and Savior into her heart. After moving to Cumming, she and her family attended First Baptist Church of Cumming. Miranda remained steadfast in her faith, and she and Wes prayed nightly with Bella and taught her in the way she should go.
For the past year and a half, Miranda endured the ills of cancer without ado at all. She was resolute in battling this disease in private, and the family describes her as a warrior!
Loving and missing her everyday until reuniting with Miranda in heaven is her husband, Wesley Rhodes; her precious baby girl, Bella; her mother, Michelle Carr (Papa Steve); her father, Donnie Yaun (Denise); her sister Ciara Vogan (Kenny and baby Kennedy); her brother, Heath Yaun (Heather and Michaela, Heather Anne, Emma, Colt); her grandparents, Bobby Judy Carr; her Richman family--Jason, Hunter, Alex, Lindsay; her father and mother in-law who considered her their very own, Bill Scharlet Rhodes and their children, Tana Romero, Jessica Posey (Wayne), Brad Rhodes (Becca), Kelly Rhodes who Miranda considered her own siblings; her uncles Michael Carr (Selina) of Milledgeville, GA; Marc Carr (Genie, Taylor, Christian) of St. Louis, IL; Ronnie Yaun (Cindy, Trey, Maddie, Anna) of Macon, GA; Curtis Yaun (Sidney Greyson Aunt Linda) of Milledgeville, GA, her Aunt Charlene Mahr of Edgewater, FL, her family, her lifelong friend who was like an aunt, Cheryl Marrett (Johnny); and many cousins, great aunts uncles in Milledgeville and Augusta, GA as well as Florida, as well as her trusted friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. this Saturday, December 14th, at Ingrams Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, in Cumming, GA. The family would love to visit with any friends during the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, a lifelong friend has set up a Go Fund page to assist in providing for Bellas future needs. You may contribute at the following:
