Born in 1935, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude Faatz Lees and the late Edward T. Lees. She graduated from Scranton Central High School and attended Marywood College in Scranton. She married Victor Mackie Vassil, her high school sweetheart. Jerry, Vic and family have been residents of Georgia since 1974. After raising their six children, Jerry worked in the medical field for over twenty years.

Jerry is survived by her loving husband, Victor; three sons, Tim (Donna), Jim (Marie) and Vince (Dina); three daughters, Margo Kirschner (Bob), MaryBeth Gibson (Mac) and Christine Smith (Pete); and 18 grandchildren, Matthew and Brandon Vassil; Robby, Christen, and JP Kirschner; Victor, Gerry and Evie Vassil; Andrew, Ryan, and Julia Vassil; Madeleine, Amanda, and John Gibson; and Victoria, Brogan, Regan, and Branston Smith. Jerry is also survived by her cousin, Marianne McTighe, and her sister-in-law, Carol Hudak, both of Scranton, PA.

Jerry, a devoted mother to her six children, was the pillar of her family whom she loved and cared for so deeply. She had a passion for life, which she passed on to her children. Family was the center of Jerrys daily activities. Jerry was a treasure to her family and her many friends with whom she enjoyed spending time. She loved gardening, visits to the beach, and cooking her personal recipes for the myriad of gatherings she hosted throughout her life. She also enjoyed attending services at her parish, Saint Brendan Catholic Church. She was an avid walker for many years and participated in her fist Peachtree Road race at age 72. Jerry will be missed very much by all who knew her, loved her and whose lives she has touched.
