Jerry Patton passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2023. A beloved father and family man, a pillar of the long term care profession, and a dear and treasured friend to all, gone far too soon.
Jerry attended the University of Tennessee and later obtained a bachelor’s degree in Long Term Healthcare at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN. Jerry stayed active in learning and advancing his impact.
As CEO of Cumming Health and Rehabilitation and Cumming Senior Living and with over 20 years of service as an Administrator, Jerry was deeply committed to advancing quality care across Georgia and enhancing the lives of seniors. He has overseen operations for 10 different senior care organizations throughout his career and served in a multitude of capacities on the Georgia Health Care Association (GHCA) Board of Directors and specifically as Chair of Board between 2021 and 2023.
Jerry was the epitome and model of a true friend. He cherished all those he met and built friendships that lasted lifetimes. He had a deep care and compassion for interacting with people on a personal basis. He cared for others and his loving presence will be missed by all who knew him.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father Wayne Patton. Jerry is survived by his loving partner, Alexandra Ammar, of Atlanta, GA. His sons; Jesse Patton, Jeff Patton (spouse Ashlee, sons Sawyer and Finley), Mother; Nancy Patton, Brother; Rick Patton, Nephews; Ryan (spouse Whitney, sons Wesley and Bodie), Philip (spouse Allie, son Henry), Stephen (spouse Katie, sons Jackson and Graham).
A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 12, 4:00-7:00 PM at A. G. Rhodes Atlanta, 350 Boulevard SE. He will also be celebrated and final burial Sunday August 13, 6-7 PM at the outside Chapel followed by the internment beside his father Wayne Patton at Collegedale Memorial Park, 4925 College Drive East, Ooltewah, TN 37363.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Georgia Healthcare Association Research & Education Foundation. The organization exists to develop, promote and support the professional development and education of individuals who desire to specialize in long-term and post-acute healthcare providing scholarships for nurses continuing education.
