Jimmy D. Reed

Jimmy D. Reed, 76, of Alpharetta passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019. Jimmy was born August 17, 1942 in McAlester, OK to the late Edd and Lois (Trueblood) Reed. He was a founding member of the Rainbow Deaf Society, the first LGBT deaf organization founded in 1973. He loved to travel, having visited all 50 states and numerous countries. He particularly loved going on cruises and enjoyed 18 of them, puzzles, word games, and cooking. He also loved cats, entertaining, and being entertained. Jimmy always loved being back in his adopted home, San Francisco. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Reed.

Survivors include his husband of 31 years, Sam Todd of Alpharetta, and 2 nephews, Brian and Scott Reed of Denver, CO.

A celebration of Jimmys life will be held later in San Francisco.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Georgia Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, .
