Jimmy Gossett, age 78, of Cumming, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018. Jimmy was born in Blountsville, AL to the late James and Reba Gossett on March 2, 1940. He was a former resident of Tampa, FL for 42 years and had retired from Peerless Pump after 46 years of service. Jimmy was a member of Greater Heights Baptist Church in Cumming. He was a loving husband, father, brother and devoted Christian. Jimmy was a United States Army Veteran serving in the 3rd Armored Division in the Field Artillery Unit during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Buster, Bobby and Billy Jo Gossett.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ila Jean Gossett of Cumming; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Kay and William J. Hamilton of Cumming; grandchildren, Hayley and Calvin Macatangay, Collin Joshua Hamilton, Hannah Faith Hamilton; great grandson Calvin Macatangay, Jr; and a number of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December9that 4:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Grinstead officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hebron Cemetery in Blountsville, AL on Monday, December 10th. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 pm until hour of the service.
