Jimmy Ray Wood, 78, of Cumming passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019. He was known as Pop to everyone and was very much loved by all who knew him. Pop loved people unconditionally and was a member of Roanoke Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Bernice Wood, and his sisters, JoAnn Sorrells and Janie Eidell.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Luke and Lori Wood of Hart County; grandchildren, Paul and Jennifer Miller, Justin and Christine Miller, Tyler Wood; a great granddaughter, Harper Miller; sister, Marsha Tavenier of Cumming; brothers, Tony and Juanita Wood and David Wood, both of Cumming; special great nephew, Evan Sanders; his special adopted daughter, Kelly Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 16, at 2:00 p.m. at Roanoke Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Hulsey, Rev. Clark Watson and Rev. Michael Nix officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
