Joan Burnett Thornton

Joan Burnett Thornton, 81, of Lawrenceville, Ga. passed away on July 7, 2012. She was lovingly surrounded by her family, friends. and the wonderful staff at Embracing Hospice.

Born December 1, 1930 in Dallas, Texas she was the daughter of the late Edgar Langford Burnett and Juanita Crews Caufield and considered Richmond Virginia her home where she was raised.

She is survived by her loving husband Charles Edward Thornton her sweetheart of 61 years, she was also the beloved mother of Debbie & her husband David Fowler, sons Ed Thornton & his wife Paula & Kenny Thornton & his wife Wendy Two sisters ,Ann Smith and Judy Gerber and many loving neices and nephews. the very proud grandmother of Murf, Ashton, Justin, Beth, Trey, Tyler & Whitney. Also three great grandsons Braeden, Reid, Peyton and a great grandaughter due on her birthday December 1, 2012.

The family will receive friends at a memorial on Thursday July 12, 2012 3:00 pm at Grayson United Methodist Church, 555 Grayson Parkway, Grayson, Ga. 30017.
