John Albin (Jack) Shulin, 86, died Friday July 9, 2021. He was a loving father, pappy, poppop, husband and friend. Since moving to Cumming, he was a parishioner at Saint Brendan Catholic Church. Prior to then, he was an active member and volunteer at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church in Peachtree Corners, GA. Jack was a member of Chi Psi fraternity, Korean War Veterans, and Master Gardener. Jack was a longtime advocate for the "Fair Tax" and he was also a political junkie who believed that America needs to go back to its religious roots.
Jack was born in 1935 in Great Neck, New York on Long Island. He was the son of Albin Anthony and Ona Marie (Dauksis) Shulin. After he graduated from Great Neck High School, he obtained his Associate of Science from SUNY in Farmingdale, NY. He entered the Army in 1957 and was sent to serve in Korea. Jack then continued his education at the University of Georgia receiving his BS in Agriculture Economics. Upon graduation, Jack spent his working years in various managerial sales positions. His favorite was with HON Industries as a regional sales representative of the Prime Mover division.
Jack leaves behind his wife MarySue (Palmer) Shulin, his children John Shulin, Jr, Cindy Thompson, Russell Shulin, Randall Shulin, and Randall's wife Megan. He also leaves behind his sisters Arline Burdewick, and Karen Shulin, sister-in-law Mercy Lee Shulin, and his grandchildren Paxton Thompson, Reece Thompson and Charlotte Shulin. His brothers Charlie and Eddie preceded him in death. He will be missed by his numerous friends he made throughout the years.
Jack's viewing will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 18 at Ingram Funeral Home 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA 30040. His funeral will be Monday July 19, at 1 p.m. at St. Brendan the Navigator 4633 Shiloh Road Cumming, GA 30040. There will be a reception in the Social Hall of the church immediately following the funeral. The funeral Mass will be livestreamed at https://bit.ly/Shulin The password is Shulin.
