It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to John William Bryan, age 58, who passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022.  John was predeceased by his father and mother, Beverly and Jenny Bryan.  He leaves behind two daughters, Collette Virginia Bryan (husband Clément Bommelaer and grandson Virgile), of Bry-Sur-Marne, France, and Heather Bryan Gantz (husband Emerson Gantz), of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Sister, Sandra Bryan Burks, (Roanoke, Virginia) and brother, R. Wayne Bryan, (Lawrenceville, GA), and nephews Bryan W. Burks, Robert B. Bryan and John E. Bryan.  Also left to cherish his memory is longtime companion, J. Caroline Thomas and the mother of his children, Stefanie Brotheridge.

John grew up as “Johnny” in Bedford County helping his father and grandfather on the farm.  He learned lessons of hard work and a strong work ethic that set the stage for successfully opening his own business and then becoming co-owner for ACG Security Solutions until his retirement.   Though he lived the last 35 years or more in Georgia, in his heart, John was always a son of Virginia.

There were many memories created with his beloved girls on numerous vacations, many to visit his family in Virginia.  There was always great food cooked by his mom, late-night poker games with his family and lots of time spent walking the fields as well as riding with the kids on the tractor and the 4-wheeler- “Yerf” dog.

John was proud of his veteran status, with an honorable discharge from the Navy and remained close to his brother and sister throughout his life.  Wayne in particular, who was a roommate in the early days in Georgia, talked with him several times a week.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, October 13 at 2:00 at Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA 30040. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hope for the Warriors
