John Francis Kadamus, Jr.

John Francis Kadamus, Jr. entered into eternal glory on January 18,2021. Loving husband to his high school sweetheart, Barbara; Papa, Dad, brother, faithful friend, loyal coworker; trusted counselor, coach & mentor - every role could be summed up with one description - John was a faithful man of God.

Born and raised in Syracuse, NY, John was a multi-sport athlete, setting records at Minoa High School (now East Syracuse Minoa) that would stand for years to come. He took that competitive and "can-do" spirit to everything he did, from raising his family, to the workforce, to coaching, teaching Sunday school, and serving as a deacon, elder, Stephen Ministries mentor, and other various volunteer roles at churches where he lived in NY, CT, TN and GA.

As much as we all loved him, John would be the first to tell you he wasn't perfect. But if you knew him, you knew John's life was centered on his trust in Jesus. He believed what the Bible says; that the God of the universe sent his only son, Jesus, who lived a perfect life and took our place, paying the price for all of our sins so that we might be reconciled to our Creator. And just as Jesus took our place in dying on a cross, through His resurrection to life He paved the way for us to join Him in defeating death and living eternally in the presence of God. "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved...For Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved" Romans 10:9; 13. Our grief today in loss is far overshadowed by our joy in the confidence that John is now safe for all eternity, in the presence of his Savior.

John's humble confidence in that faith was a blessing to him and many others in this world. He leaves his loving wife of 57 years Barbara Jean (Fleming);sisters Barbara Costa, Linda Malinowski, and Judy Dellich; five children and their spouses, Kevin(Diana), Lynn Jefson (Todd), Elaine Loftus (Tom), Tom (Hollee), Alison Fancher (Tim);16 grandchildren (and spouses): Zachary Kadamus(Kara),Rebekah Kadamus; Nicholas Jefson(Haley), Ryan Jefson (Sarah), Alex Jefson, Emily Carhart (Troy); Kevin Loftus (Abi), Taylor Loftus; Madison, Alexa and Olivia Kadamus, Hana, Kera and Sabriyya Robinson; Connor and Ella Fancher; and 5 great grandchildren: Kherington, Zaydie, Andilyn, Anderson, and baby Jefson; all of whom adored him and enjoyed spending time with him, whether it was around the campfire at Adirondack Camping Village, getting ice cream at Martha's, riding roller coasters, out on the golf course, watching a Yankees game, or just being at home. He was predeceased by his Parents, John Sr. and Elizabeth Kadamus (Mitchell), and grandson, Jacob Kadamus (who no doubt has a baseball in hand, excited to join Papa in another game of catch).

We all rejoice today in knowing God is saying to John "Well done, good and faithful servant...Let's celebrate together!"
