John George "Jack" Adams Sr

John George "Jack" Adams, Sr., 90, of Atlanta, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2015. Jack was born in Richmond, Virginia on August 6, 1924 to Charles Jesse and Sallie Virginia Parker Adams. Jack was predeceased by his wife, Ella Marsh Adams. Jack is survived by his son, John George "Jerry" Adams, Jr., daughter, Sallie Adams Daniel, granddaughter, Patty Adams Clark, great grandchildren, Ella and David Clark, and long time close friend, Carmen Noel. Jack attended St. Christopher's School and Hampden-Sydney College. Jack was a born salesman and worked for Westinghouse for 25 plus years and they moved Jack and his family to Atlanta in 1958. He ended his sales and management career with Litton Industries. Jack was very involved with Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church and School, serving twice as Junior Warden and also as Senior Warden of the Vestry at the church and served on the Board of Directors at Holy Innocents School. Jack loved to sing and he sang in the Holy Innocents' choir over 40 years. When he moved to Mt. Vernon Towers in 2007, he joined the Melodears singing group there and looked forward to every rehearsal and concert. The family is very grateful to his caregiver, Russell Strachan, who became his second "son". The service to celebrate Jack's life will be held at Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church, 805 Mt. Vernon Highway, Atlanta, GA 30327, on Monday, April 27th at 11:00 am. There will be a reception after the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
