John Homer Foster

Mr. John Homer Foster, age 86, of Cumming GA, passed away Thursday, August 13th, 2020 at Northside Hospital Forsyth. He was born July 22nd 1934 in Carroll County, GA. He was the son of Luther David and Ruby Lucille Foster. He was a member of The River Church in Cumming GA. He is survived by: his wife, Nellie Marie Foster, of 52 years. Sons John David Foster and wife Eugenia, Mark Robert Foster and wife Robin, Gregory Wayne Foster and wife Sandi, Jeffrey Scott Foster and wife Tracy, Darren Keith Foster and wife Cathy. A blessed abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Homer was well known as a jack of all trades. He spent 18+ years as a union electrician before joining the fire department, where he spent 22 years. It wasn't until Homer retired that he found his true calling. The mission field of Central America and the orphans, which he served for many years until his health would not allow him to continue to travel abroad.

Visitation will be Friday evening, August 14th, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ingrams Funeral Home in Cumming, GA. He will lie in state at his home church, The River, at 610 Canton Road Cumming, GA 30040 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The service will immediately follow . Pastor Jason Bailey, of the River Church, and Pastor Ricky Baker, from Bristol, Tennessee, will provide the service.

Internment will be at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta, Ga. Due to city ordinances and circumstances out of our control, attendance at the grave site will be limited to only 10 people.
