John J. L. Martin

John J. L. Martin, age 87, of Cumming, GA, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017, at his residence. He was a loving, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He was a deacon, song leader, choir leader and member of Cumming Second Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Egbert and Lucille Bell Martin; wife, Rachel Montree Martin; sisters, Janell Temple, Ineal Martin; brother, Billy Martin; granddaughter, Audrey Lynn Martin; brother-in-law, Jerry Bagwell.

Survivors include his children, Troyce (Sarah) Martin, Joy Howard, Penny Martin; brothers, Hayward (Lunell) Martin, Hugh (Jane) Martin, Ruel (Toni) Martin, Truel (June) Martin; sisters, Elizabeth Bagwell, Mary (Larry) Burruss, Phyllis (Frank) Free; grandchildren, Jon Howard, Shane (Nikki) Martin, Jill (Terry) Maag, Nick (Becky) Martin, Kaymon (Mark) Nix, James Pruitt, Sirena Pruitt; great grandchildren, Cooper, Gus, Jud, Isaac, Hunter, Kendal, Easton, Kade, Annabelle Montree; along with many other loving friends and relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Martin will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 3:30 pm in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Martin, Rev. Truel Martin, Rev. Stephen Davis, Rev. Ruel Martin and Rev. Terry Cowart officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Saturday, from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
