John L. "J.L." Poss

John L. (J.L.) Poss, age 83, a life-long resident of Cumming passed away Friday, November 11, 2016. J.L. was loving husband, Dad and Paw Paw. He enjoyed his garden, working with his tractor and he never met a stranger. J.L. was a life-long member of Haw Creek Baptist Church where he loved all of his church family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Margie Poss and a number of brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Tommie Ann Poss; children, John Keith Poss, Gary (Paula) Poss, Tim (Terri) Poss, Kathy (Marion) Vaughan, Joe (Lynne) Banister; grandchildren, Dustin (Madison) Poss, Kristina Poss, Alysa Poss, Zachary Poss, Hunter Poss, Paula Vaughan, Tracy (Tim) Davenport; sisters-in-law, Gloria Poss, Linda Emmett; brothers-in-law, Reece McDaniel, Ricky McDaniel, Gary Fraser; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 14, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Sorrells, Rev. Jerry Orr and Rev. Horace Richards officiating. Interment will follow at Haw Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
