John Charles Posadny

John Charles Posadny age 80, of Cumming, Georgia passed away Saturday evening, April 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving girls. He was born on April 16, 1943, in Reyszewo, Poland to Louis and Angela (Janowski) Posadny. His four older sisters – Lucretia, Trudy, Mary, and Donna along with his Father emigrated to the United States in December 1946 settling in a Polish Neighborhood in Toledo, Ohio.  John and his younger brother Louis and their Mother joined them a year later.  

John was an Air Force Veteran who served in the Air National Guard for 25 years. He also started out as a Programmer, Systems Analyst, Data Warehousing and other roles for NCR for 34 years.  He enjoyed working for such a great Company and loved solving programs for all those years.

John was greatly known for his great sense of humor and making others laugh with such great ease.  His laugh and smile were very contagious.  He found it a challenge to come up with great one liners to make you laugh. He found much joy in making others laugh and feel good.

John was very handy at a young age thanks to his Father showing him the ropes from their rental homes and working at Kaiser Jeep Factory.  He always did his own car repairs and maintenance. Never hesitated to help others when they asked or when he saw you struggle.  There was no repair he would not tackle, even if he had to do extensive research, he would eventually repair/fix/install it.  He also like to explain to you how he went about fixing it so that you could learn too.  He was the BEST handy man around!!!

John is one of kind man that is sweet, generous, loving, helping and can always make you laugh.  No other can fill his shoes or replace him – no words can describe how greatly he will be missed!!!!

He is survived by his loving Wife Theresa of 54 years, his only child – Daughter Jennifer and his Twin Granddaughters Alexis and Brooke.  Also, Sister Mary (Richard) Marker and Brother Louis (Betty) Posadny.

A Celebration Mass will be held Friday May 31st at 1:00pm at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 4633 Shiloh Rd, Cumming, GA 30040. The Burial will be held Wednesday June 12, 2024 at 10:00am at Georgia National Cemetery at 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane, Canton, GA 3011
