Jonathan William-Alain Viriot entered into eternal rest on March 19, 2016. He was born on February 22, 1994 in Dallas, Texas. During his short life he lived in many places including Brussels, Belgium, Woodbridge, New Jersey, Austin TX, Denver, CO, and Cumming, GA. Known by many as Jon Jon, he attended West Forsyth High School. While there he was a member of the Swimming Team and earned a varsity letter. Jon's interests included painting, photography, dance, electronic music, and recently LED Hula Hooping. Jon had many diverse friends and was able to mix comfortably with all he met. He was a faithful friend and was unafraid to speak out against injustice. He gave love freely and was loved by many. Jonathan is survived by his mother, Yasmina Polspoel Mercatili, and stepfather, Daniel Mercatili, of Cumming, GA; his paternal grandfather, Alain Polspoel of Bruges, Belgium; grandmothers, Andree Polspoel of Brussels, Belgium and Julia Mercatili of Warwick, NY; his sister, Gaelle Viriot Carey of San Diego, CA; brother, Sebastien Viriot of Amsterdam, Netherlands; many aunts and uncles, including Karim and Shayaz Nathoo of Montreal CA, Peter and Pamela Mercatili of Colonia, NJ, Steven and Marci Krauss of Pleasantville NY and Stephen and Margaret Mercatili of Orefield, PA. A Service is planned Friday, March 25th at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be sent to the Bald Ridge Lodge, a non-profit Stabilization and Assessment Center for boys located in Forsyth County, 765 Lanier 400 Parkway, Cumming, GA 30040 or at www.baldridgelodge.org.
