Joseph "Pete" Lanier Bennett

Joseph "Pete" Lanier Bennett, age 82, of Alpharetta, GA, passed away Monday, August 31, 2020. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. He was the owner and operator of Pete Bennett Service Station in Alpharetta; GA. Pete was a member of the Ducktown Masonic Lodge F&AM #572. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Bennett, and father, Forrest Bennett.

He is survived by his mother, Agnes Bennett Rogers; children, Johnny (Shelley) Bennett, and Jennifer (Rev. Richard) Picklesimer; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Linda Bennett; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Everett Castleberry, and Glenda and Jerry Honea; 6 grandchildren, Bobby Lanier Bennett, Brandon Forrest Bennett, Emma Louise Bennett, Felicia Bennett, Brittney Silvers, and Ashley Silvers; 4 great grandchildren, Joseph Bennett, Mickey Bennett, Rilynn Bennett, and Colton Bennett; special friend, Dollie Wilkins; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 12:00 noon at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, GA with Rev. Barry Payne officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
