Joseph Oliver, "Joe" Bailey

Bailey, Joseph Oliver, "Joe", age 81, formerly of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away October 1, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. He graduated from Gainesville High School, and then went on to Georgia Tech and Southern Polytechnical Institute studying Industrial and Mechanical Engineering. Joe was in Industrial Sales and Distribution for several companies including Johnson & Johnson, Snow Filtration, and O.I. Schott. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and off roading. He was a fan of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Atlanta Braves. Joe was an Eagle Scout and was a devoted member of the Sons of the Confederacy as well as the Habersham & Forsyth County Historical Societies.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Isam Joe Bailey and Ila Hughes Bailey.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue Pruitt Bailey, his daughters Susan Bailey Davis (Jason), Paige Bailey Turkia (Mark Watson), and his grandchildren, Joey Turkia and Abby Turkia.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040 with Rev. Shelia Preacher, officiating. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm followed by a service at 2:00 pm in the Chapel.
