Joseph (Joe) Raymond Payne, age 95, of Cumming passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Joe was born December 30, 1919 in Union County, Georgia. He was a loving and devoted Dad and Paw Paw. Joe loved his kids, grandkids and great grandkids unconditionally. A veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, Joe was a member of the "Bloody 100th" Bomber Group, 8th Air Corps and therefore loved his country; but he didn't love any of these the way he loved his Lord and Savior and spread the word wherever he went. He is now reaping those rewards. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Eliza Payne; his loving wife of 62 years, Louise Payne; 5 brothers, Major, J.C., Loy, Bud and Charlie Payne; 5 sisters, Nell Carder, Maggie Carder, Dicey Grizzle and Amy and Annie Payne; a son-in-law, Don Largent and a great grandson, Caleb Williams Joe is survived by 7 children, James (Sue) Payne, Martha (Jerry) Anglin, Margaret Largent, Earl (Margie) Payne, Jean (Dennis) Pelley, Ronnie Payne, Tena (Tim) Renkel. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 1, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dennis Taylor, Rev. Jack Enloe and Dr. Bob Jolly officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday and Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
