Josephine Ann Mengoni

Joseph Mengoni Jr. and Josephine Ann Mengoni, lifelong faithful servants of God, loving husband and wife, father and mother, and grandparents have been called to Heaven. They recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. As in life, even death could not keep them apart, as they passed within 32 hours of each other.

Joseph was born and raised in Raton, New Mexico to Italian immigrants. He achieved his Pharmacy degree from the University of New Mexico in 1956 and later became a Doctor of Pharmacy. He practiced retail pharmacy for almost a decade, holding licenses in New Mexico, California, Arizona, New York, New Jersey, and Georgia. He then had a successful career in Sales and Marketing with Geigy Pharmaceuticals (Novartis) for 29 years. In the next phase of his career, he was Vice President of the Georgia Pharmacy Association, President and Founder of The Academy of Independent Pharmacy in GA, and a Certified Diabetes Educator. Lastly, he was Chairman of the Board for Data RX Management before retiring at the age of 80. He had a passion for the field of pharmacy and a lifetime commitment to helping people.

Josephine was born in Cubero, New Mexico to proud pioneers that ran a trading post along Route 66 in Bluewater, New Mexico. Her family moved to Albuquerque when she started school. Josephine and Joseph met one summer when she was 12 and he was 15. Their friendship grew into love and they were married in 1955. She was very involved in 4-H throughout her middle and high school years. This is where she learned to cook, bake, sew, knit, and was extremely proud of the trip to Chicago that she earned at age 16. As an adult, she started and led the Roadrunners 4-H club in Albuquerque in which her children participated. Josephine devoted her entire life to her husband and family. Both were very active in the churches that they belonged to and were Eucharistic Ministers.

Joseph is preceded in death by his beloved mother Maria Mengoni and father Miliano Mengoni, brothers Primo Corazzi, Pete Corazzi, and sister Olga Corazzi. Josephine is preceded in death by her beloved father George Fagan and mother Frankie Fagan.
