Joyce Elaine Morse

Joyce Elaine Morse, loving mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully from her battle with lung cancer on November 7,2013. She was born in Sioux City, Iowa on January 20, 1932. The child of a military Father (Air Force) Joyce moved quite a bit during World War II. In 1945 she settled in Dayton, OH where she attended Oakwood Junior High starting in the 8th grade. After the 10th grade she finished and graduated from Fairmont High, approximately 8 miles South of Oakwood High. She then attended Miami Valley Hospital's school of nursing and graduated after 3 years in 1953. On October 16, 1954 she married Kenneth, Jr. a school mate from the 8th grade. They sat behind each other in English class and worked together in the Oakwood High School Library. After living in Dayton, Cleveland, Washington Courthouse, OH and Ithaca, NY the Morses ended back in Dayton where Joyce worked for a while at Miami Valley Hospital. When a new hospital, Kettering Memorial Hospital, was opened, Joyce changed employment. She was employed as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Nursery and later an Assistant Supervisor on nights. She loved to read and bird watch and loved to travel with her family. She was an active member of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Centerville, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her mother Catherine Elizabeth Jones and her father Ford Dickson Loveland. She was also preceded in death by her husband and partner Kenneth P Morse ; she is survived by her brother-in-law Peter S Morse, of West Falmouth Ma.;her daughters Linda Morse of Duluth, Ga.,Karen Price and husband John Price of Hoschton, Ga.,Sharon Calcutt of Daytona Beach, FL.; her grandchildren Ashley Werner of Nashville, TN., Ashley Lawson and her husband Brian Lawson of Eustis,Fl. ,Jaclyn Boyce and her husband John Robert Boyce of Dacula, GA., Nathaniel Robertson of Orlando,FL.,Mariposa Calcutt of Daytona Beach Fl. Great grandchildren Drew Werner, Chelsea Lawson and Lydia Lawson. She is also survived by niece Michelle Morse of Fort Worth Texas and nephew Michael Morse of Mason, Ohio

Joyce''s Memorial service will be held on Thursday November 14th 2013 at 11 AM at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 7001 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45459.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Embracing Hospice in Cumming GA.,Southminster Food Pantry or a charity of your choice.
