Judith Puertas Kaplan

Judith Puertas Kaplan, age 90, of Alpharetta, GA, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021. Judith Kaplan, a former resident of Scarsdale, NY., lived in Cumming, GA for the last 24 years.  Judith was the wonderful, loving mother of 6 children and 12 grandchildren.  Judith was a devout Catholic and member of St. Brendan's Catholic Church parish where she also sang in the choir. She was also a very active member of the community including volunteering with the American Red Cross and a member of the Scarsdale Women's Club.  Judith was a gifted artist leaving a legacy of beautiful hand painted pieces of porcelain for her family and friends to cherish for years to come.  She always enjoyed staying physically active including cross country skiing, tennis and sky diving (2 times in her late 70s!).

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey A. Kaplan, Jr. 

She is survived by her children, Harvey Kaplan III, Charlie Kaplan, Jeffery Kaplan, Jennifer Gallace, Annette Divers and Kenneth Kaplan; grandchildren, Daniel Fitzgerald, Deborah Fitzgerald, Zachary Divers, Michael Gallace, Amanda Gallace, Joseph Kaplan, Christopher Kaplan, Gabriel Kaplan, Marie Kaplan, Anna Kaplan, Angela Kaplan and Monica Kaplan. 

A memorial mass was held at 10:00 am on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale, N.Y.
