In Loving Memory of Judith Mahnfeldt
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judith Mahnfeldt, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and lifelongnurse, who left this world on Monday October 30th, 2023. She was born in West New York, NJ in 1943 to Margaret and Frederick Rubin and brought a profound sense of love, care, and compassion to the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Judith, fondly known as Judy, was the loving wife of Uwe Mahnfeldt, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.
As a mother, she was a source of unwavering support and guidance to her two boys, Mark and Martin. She played an instrumental role in their upbringing and took immense pride in their accomplishments. Her dedication extended to her three adoring grandchildren, Chase, Jewel, and Delilah, whom she showered with love and spent countless hours on the phone with, cherishing every moment and sharing in their joy. She always spoke so highly of her daughter in law Lynn, whom she affectionately and proudly called “the daughter she never had”.
Judy's career as a nurse was marked by her exceptional commitment and caring nature. She was an amazing emergency room nurse, tending to the needs of her patients, and always going above and beyond. Her dedication to friends and family was equally remarkable, as she extended her nursing expertise to those she held dearest, often placing their needs above her own. Judy later transitioned to a career as a psychiatric nurse, where she believed she could make a lasting impact on some of the most vulnerable members of our society, offering comfort, compassion, and a listening ear.
Judy had an incredible admiration for her father, Frederick Rubin, and she often praised his character, sharing heartwarming stories of the man he was. The bond between them was unbreakable, and her father's influence was a source of strength throughout her life. She also had a deep admiration for her mother Margaret who lived with her family after the passing of her father. They would spend countless evenings together talking and watching TV, often with her two boys close at her side.
As we reflect on the life of this remarkable woman, Judy's most treasured moments were undoubtedly the times when she could proudly speak of her beloved family. Her legacy lives on through the love, compassion, and care she bestowed upon her loved ones. Judith Mahnfeldt will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all those she touched.
May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love that she so generously shared with the world.
