Junior Clifton (J.C.) Kirby, age 84 of Cumming, passed away, Sunday, August 20, 2017. He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. J.C. was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Velvie C. Kirby; son-in-law, Eddie Chester.
Survivors include his children, Clifton and Amy Kirby of Dawsonville, Ronnie Kirby of Cumming, Nancy and Eugene Langston of Cumming, Fred and Virginia Kirby of Dawsonville, Larry and Janice Kirby of Cumming, Dorothy Chester of Cumming; grandchildren, Amanda Kirby, Shelby Kirby, Jonathan Kirby and fianc Morgan Thomas, Kevin and Molly Kirby, James and Sabrina Chester, Carter Kirby; great-children, Nolan Bennett, Noah Bennett, Harley Rae Kirby, Wennie Kate Kirby; step-grandchildren, Patrick, Chris and Kevin Langston; 4 step-great grandchildren; 2 step great-great grandchildren; brothers, G. W Kirby, J. D. Kirby, Ricky Kirby; sister, Jean Oliver; and a number of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 23rd at 2:00 pm at New Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Nix, Johnny Purcell and Rev. Clyde Boling officiating. Remains will be placed in state at New Harmony Baptist Church at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at New Harmony Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Monday from 12:00 noon until 9:00 pm and Tuesday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm and Wednesday from 9:00 am until hour of the service.
