Kathleen "mama Kat&r Samples

Kathleen Mama Kat Samples, 82, of Cumming, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 following a brief illness. Mama Kat was born in Forsyth County to the late George Belle Higgins and was a lifelong member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Dennis Lee Samples; sisters, Grace Warren, Pauline Higgins and Sylvia Bennett. Mama Kat was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Survivors include her husband of 61 1/2 years, Crant Samples; daughter son-in-law, Marla Bobby Gazaway; son daughter-in-law, Randy Donna Samples; grandchildren, Shane Renee Gazaway, Blake Lauren Samples, Taylor Samples and Amanda Samples; brother, George Veston Higgins; brother sister-in-law, Terrell Ruby Dean Higgins; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Friday, September 10, 2010 at Cross Roads Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00PM 6:00-9:00PM Thursday, September 9th and from 11:00AM-1:00PM Friday, September 10th. The family is accepting flowers but those who wish, may make a donation in Mama Kats honor to Cross Roads Baptist Church-Youth, 6105 Jett Rd., Dawsonville, GA 30534.
